Mechvor Idle - Mine resources to build your custom mech and participate in intense progress bar based combat all while listening to some chill jungle tracks!

Post your finish times in the comment!

Once you have built out your mech, you will then want to enter the Arena fight - where you will be pit against 1 out 3 opponents. This opponent will be randomized from the start - and you'll want to purchase recon scouts to gain insight on who your opponent is so that you can build accordingly

*Pro tip: the combat isn't currently in a well balanced state - so take with a grain of salt - at least you'll know characteristics of your opponent**

for quality of life you can use 'A' and 'D' keys to traverse back and forth to panes.

Upgrades description:

Mining laser:

Mining laser is click mining on the main asteroid. Press and hold on the big asteroid to begin excavation process!

- upgrades your click mining, speed up your mining, increase your ferrite and platinum acquisition, improve your chances to receive double the resources.

Drones:

- There are 2 types of drones: Mining and Platinum mining drones. Mining drones will help you with ferrite acquisition with some platinum while platinum drones exclusively focus on platinum. You have access to upgrading their speed, acquisition amount, and

Ferrite refinery and Plasma Generator:

The Ferrite refinery and Plasma Generator are necessary for obtaining the means to purchase mech components. You will need to purchase both in order to complete the game. They both - work very similar - however, ferrite will be deducted each time you produce refined ferrite bars while the generator produce as long as their is fuel in the tank.

Tips:

- During the early game, start with focusing on platinum as this will help you gain more platinum to spend on upgrades. You will then want to focus on ferrite acquisition so that you are not bottle necking ferrite bars production and can have a smooth experience.

Combat instructions:

The combat plays out by itself with automated DPS checks - this is represented with progress bars: 2 at the top for the enemy and 2 at the bottom for the player.  You also use your mech's built in Vulcan machine guns - which can be fired by spam clicking to give you a slight edge against the boss - you just might win!

its hard to read the text

also its not clear what to do

there is a full screen button if you're having trouble seeing things, and you have missions you can follow if you need some guidance. If that's not enough- i wrote out a pretty thorough description below the game window.

It is a jam game, and unfortunately tutorializing can be a difficult thing to do with the limited time - but the game loop should be quite simple if you figure things out.

i did click it still had trouble as this font is terrible and the video screen effect is just annoying

(1 edit)

you can turn off the CRT Filter effect. Sounds like the game just isn't for you. Thanks for trying it out though!

Too much image tracking . Makes it hard to see. It should not be constant

Great Game,
I would probably suggest a little bit more automatisation on the defense side (with stronger drones that could come once you defeat stronger ennemies)
For the fighting part, instead of 1 fight, I would suggest just having automated fight that are just legit DPS checker depending on the build you're making.

Those can be what makes the asteroid attacks stronger once defeated, if lost we could have a huge penalty (farming again our drones for exemple)

It would make more sense about what build we're doing, I've bought my upgrades for my drone thinking "oh cool I'll make a super mobile ranged DPS", at the end it was just a spam click.

But also, apparently I could use 10 dirt for idk what,

I think, more explanation on the fight, either more interaction that really makes sense on wich build you going for or full automated dps checker would be better instead of having this weird "clic as much as u want"

Have a great day !

Thanks for the feedback.. yeah, there's room for making things more interesting, but with the limited time and me being the only programmer, I had to go for a more simplistic route.

"I think, more explanation on the fight, either more interaction that really makes sense on wich build you going for or full automated dps checker would be better instead of having this weird "clic as much as u want" "

This sentence is confusing me as there is automated dps checkers which are the progress bars that represent the weapons you purchased previously that fill up automatically.  Perhaps there is a build you ran into that broke - idk.  Also, your armor level is the total of the armor points from each piece of armor you purchase (heavy having the most armor - light being the least - though providing their own cost and benefits).  I agree that this could be better explained, which I will probably make more improvements after the jam.

The click as much as you want is just to give you a slight edge on the boss.  Anyway, there was also ideas to expand on this, but again for time limit, had to go with something more simplistic.

"But also, apparently I could use 10 dirt for idk what, "

haha I'm glad you found that - we did find this last minute before submission - and I have still have no idea why that happens lol.

Thanks for playing!

Oh okay !

Don't worry not judging, the game is PRETTY GREAT for a JAM !

I'll be honest I've beaten the boss mostly  because of the clicking part, I felt the auto think was like super long,

But yeah having each part having their own benefits/inconvenient is a great idea, I couldn't understand that for the DPS/shield part, from my point of view it was just "buy what you feel makes your mech a great mech and go fight" but I should had bought the most epensives thing I guess haha

I'm glad you liked it and appreciate any feedback even if I might personally disagree or not understand it. But I see what you mean about the clicking part - perhaps I made it too influential in the fight.. It was honestly a last minute decision in attempt to make the fight a little easier as this is a jam game - and I'd prefer to make it a bit more on the easy side than the harder side for the player.

In a perfect world, there is supposed to be strategy to the mech component purchasing that's where you will buy recon scouts to give you hints on how to build your mech - unfortunately, I did not have time to really balance things or flesh things completely out. If I were to go back to it that would be something on my priority list.

Oh yeah that's fine, don't worry, I liked the game,

It was just more a review to give you my point of view as a player if it helps that's cool, if it doesn't that's cool also,

We rarely have good quality games like that in the incremental feed :)

I can’t believe you found the +10 thing, that’s crazy lmao. We found it with roughly half an hour to deadline and it didn’t seem to be breaking anything so it stayed in.

Haha, I've just spam clicked everywhere to see what the combat does, I think from a player perspective it sounds super obvious to try everywhere but from a dev point of view it's more like "oh this part is automated, no one's gonna spam everywhere on the screen lol"
